How To Reach

 Kipling Trail Cottage is in Talyanigaad village, which is in enroute the hike trail from Dehradun to Mussoorie. To reach the cottage, trek through the Kipling Trail and continue towards Talyanigaad village.

It’s a trek of is 3½ km with the initial 1½ km being a steep climb and the rest being easy to moderate grade trek.

By Air

The Jollygrant Airport in Dehradun is the airport closest to the location. Regular direct flights connect Dehradun with Delhi and Mumbai. One can hire a cab or avail bus services from the airport to Shahanshahi Ashram, the starting point of the Kipling Trail. Many tourists who plan to come from other cities or parts of the country may opt for a flight to Delhi/Chandigarh first and then perhaps book a taxi to the hill station.

By Rail

Dehradun Railway Station is the station closest to Shahanshahi Ashram. One can hire a cab or avail bus services to reach Shahanshahi Ashram from Dehradun.

By Road

Cabs and government and private buses can be availed from the nearby major cities like Delhi and Dehradun to reach Shahanshahi Ashram and begin the onward trek.
